The Best Golf Gifts, Gadgets, and Swing Trainers for 2016

posted in: Top Training Aids 0

What golfer doesn’t like gadgets?! As far as golf gifts go, clubs get pretty expensive and it’s difficult to know what size to get or what brand a golf will like. So if you’re in need of a good gift, then gadgets are the way to go. Here are a few that we recommend for golfers of all size, shape, or skill level.

Rangefinders

Rangefinders are awesome. Distance is arguably the most important result of a golf shot, whether it’s a tee shot or a putt. If you can hit it hole high, then you are ahead of the game. GPS is pretty neat, but laser rangefinders are much more versatile. They are useful at the driving range or on the course. They can also get distances to anything you can see. GPS does not have that capability.

This TecTecTec Rangefinder is the most popular laser on Amazon by far. It’s also rated very high at 4.5 stars. It is more popular than the Bushnell’s and Nikon’s. It’s accurate to within 1 meter, too. It does not have slope functionality, but that is illegal in tournament play anyway.

This rangefinder is definitely the way to go.

Swing Analyzers

When looking for golf gifts, swing analyzers are always fun. Whether you're looking at swing speed meters or anything else, game improvement is always a hit. The Zepp Swing Analyzer is really amazing. The sensor attaches to your glove and it can tell exactly where it is in 2 dimensions. It connects to your phone and lets you look at your swing path to see if there are any hitches or missteps. It can even compare your swing to the professionals! It’s even endorsed by pros like Michelle Wie among others. This technology is really pretty cool!

Note: this version has 4 stars on Amazon. There is a second version, but it doesn’t look as popular and it only has 3.5 stars.

This is from the manufacturer: “The rechargeable Zepp Golf Swing Analyzer is a tiny sensor that clips onto any golf glove to record and analyze your swing in three dimensions. Recording 1,000 data points per second, it captures your swing in 3D so you can replay it from any angle on your iPhone, iPad, Galaxy or other Android device. See your swing, compare two swings and share results with friends or coaches. Records up to 8 hours and stores up to 2,000 swings.”

Golf Equipment Organizer

Ok, this Golf Equipment Organizer is less of a gadget, but makes an incredible gift. In fact, this golf equipment organizer is a gift for the whole family! This will keep your garage or sports room so much cleaner. And a golfer will always know where his or her things are.

Another reason we put this on here was because it is SUPER popular on Amazon and has really high ratings at 4.5 stars. So we know it’s going to live up to your expectations.

Medicus Dual Hinged Iron

Swing trainers are always great golf gifts as well. The Medicus Dual Hinged 7-iron is the swing training aid of choice. It's tried and true. This is the go-to swing training aid. We found it well made, consistent, and very helpful when eliminating mistakes in the golf swing. This is one of the training aids that we recommend strongly. It is rated 4.5/5 on Amazon and seems to always make it to the top of our recommended trainer list. There are other clubs as well, like a driver or 5-iron that are worth looking at, but this 7-iron is the standard.

Golf Books

Last, but certainly not least, you may be looking at books to give your golfer. Books are great golf gifts because they are informative and can seriously improve someone's golf game. This book by Brandel Chamblee is a new book that your favorite golfer might not have yet. It's a fantastic read and is really packed with information that golfers can use immediately. It's really very helpful and is rated very high on Amazon.
