Our Review:

We liked this program a lot. Jim Mclean used to be all over the golf channel. Perhaps he’s retired and enjoying the fruits of his labor. In any case, he came up with this method of teaching and it was very popular for awhile. It’s rated really high on Amazon, but I think the last version came out in 2009.

In any case, let me tell you why we liked this program so much. This program breaks down the swing into 8 different positions. Jim Mclean says that the swing can be broken down into parts and each part can be understood easier. Then when you put it all together, you’ll have a great swing. Each portion of the swing builds on the previous part. Jim goes through all 8 steps in enough detail for everyone to get a good sense of what he’s trying to communicate.

This program is genius because it makes the swing understandable. By finding each position, one by one, anyone can master the swing. Furthermore, practice becomes so much easier when you know where you need to be at each step in the swing. We we practice the 8-Step Swing, we go through each position until we are hitting each one correctly. Then we move to the next part of the swing. The idea is to work these positions into muscle memory with repetition. Then you can take this improved swing to the golf course.

This is a great way to teach the swing and it works.
